Diagnosing Alert Fatigue · Deepest case study
Understanding why hospitalists override so many critical alerts is not something many designers think about, but for the designers that do, purposeful design in an alert dashboard saves lives. Hospitalists are frustrated with critical alerts that look the same regardless of severity. Two rounds of usability testing, synthesized from peer-reviewed clinical sources, helped me build a dashboard that active medical professionals could act on effectively.
